First apologies to all for the various email test messages over the last day or so. Some new features go in easy, some don’t and some are a total pain to get working.
The new system allows you much more control over which messages you see by email.
If you’re on the mailing list, you can simply remain on it and will still get an email for every new item that is added on the website. If this is OK for you then you don’t need to do anything.
However, if you want to only get certain types of message there is a way now.
If you create yourself a login on the website you can now set up email notifications associated with that account and then select which categories of message you want sent on as email. After doing this let me know so that I can remove you from the blanket mailing list.
The link to create a user login on the website is near the bottom on the right-hand side in the Administration panel
I’ve still waiting for one or two results officially from home teams, however I do have all the results now.
Ark Raiders 8-8 Cookham Social
Bird In Hand 9-7 North Star
Bourne End 6-10 Ark Angels
Craufurd B 10-6 Farmer’s Boy
Desborough 7-9 Golden Harp A
Golden Harp B 9-7 Craufurd A
Ivy Leaf B 9-7 Waggon A
Thatched Cottage 8-8 Barley Mow
Waggon B 9-7 Ivy Leaf A (yes, 6 wins out of 6!)
Leaguepad and the Spreadsheet will both be updated shortly.
The final result is Craufurd A 8-8 Ivy Leaf B, which reached me too late to be in the results in the Maidenhead Advertiser. The single point is enough to nudge Ivy B up into second place by “goal difference”. All the website is now updated with this week’s results.
Something went wrong with uploading the spreadsheet last night and the version currently here is a virgin version prior to fixing the January 3 date issue and adding the results. I’ll upload it again this evening.
Although I still haven’t received it officially, I now have the result of the Desborough/Waggon B game – a 9-7 win for Waggon B. Leaguepad and the spreadsheet are both updated to include this result.
I’ve just completed the upload of LeaguePad and spreadsheet files. As well as this week’s results (except for Desborough/Waggon B which is still outstanding) this includes the re-worked schedule avoiding January 3, 2011 as a match day.
I’ll have printed copies of the revised schedule for each team at the next league meeting in October.
Keep an eye on the Maidenhead Advertiser – with any luck they will publish my news item and the league table too based on copy I sent in just before the publishing deadline of midday today (Tuesday).
I screwed up again with the 2011 dates. Some matches are currently scheduled on January 3, which will be a bank holiday due to January 1st being on a Saturday in 2011
Unlike the May 30 error, this one means that I’m going to have to push all the 2011 fixtures one week later. Leaguepad and the Spreadsheet will be updated tonight and I’ll have printed copies of the updated league for all team captains at the league meeting in October
The length of the season was a popular topic at our match last night. The reason it’s not two leagues this season is that two leagues of 9 would make for a much much shorter season which would adversely affect the amount generated for St Marks Hospital through the collection of Pennies.
Ideally, we need some more teams to make two leagues viable however other options exist like adding extra fixtures, moving competitions to Mondays or going with the much shorter season and increasing the Pennies per person. Discuss it amongst your teams and let your captains know which would be preferable for 2011/2012.
How the website looks, and to a large extent behaves too, is governed by a “Theme”. I have just updated the website to the latest version of the theme. This is a fairly major jump in versions since I have been holding back updating waiting for some problems that were in the previous version to get fixed so I’ve actually jumped several intermediate versions to get to the version being used now.
There are a few cosmetic improvements however the website should still look and behave the same. If you see a problem please add a comment on this posting.
… so obviously there shouldn’t be any games scheduled that day. The games currently showing against May 30 should be played on June 6 instead which is currently empty in the schedule.
I’ll fix this on the website tonight and remind everyone at the next league meeting.
